Rafail Nassar
Rafail Nassar is a qualified Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with extensive clinical experience in both private practice and the UK National Health Service (NHS). He was born in Athens, Greece, in 1994 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, which he completed in 2017. He further advanced his professional expertise by undertaking a Master of Science in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at the University of Brighton, completed in 2024.
He has developed a broad clinical background through work in orthopaedic, neurological, cardiorespiratory, paediatric, and outpatient settings. His early clinical training took place in leading rehabilitation centres in Greece, including ‘‘Anaplasi’’, ‘‘Philoktitis’’, ‘‘ELEPAP’’, and the ‘‘Olympic Village Polyclinic’’, where he gained hands-on experience across multiple specialties. He also served in the Hellenic Army’s Infantry Sanitary Unit, providing musculoskeletal and outpatient physiotherapy care.
Since 2019, he has been working at ‘‘Response Physiotherapy’’, where he holded the role of Senior Physiotherapist and Educator in the area of Eastbourne and Brighton, specialising in musculoskeletal rehabilitation. In parallel, he has been employed within the NHS since 2020 as a First Contact Practitioner (FCP), delivering advanced musculoskeletal assessment and management in primary care settings across the area of Hastings. His NHS roles have included placements at ‘‘Station Practice’’, ‘‘South Saxon House Surgery’’, and ‘‘Sedlescomb House Surgery’’.
Rafail is fully registered with the Panhellenic Association of Physiotherapists (PAP), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). He has completed advanced training related to First Contact Practice, including FCP Stage 1 and 2 registrations, FCP Supervisor and Educator qualification, and certification as an Imaging Referrer for musculoskeletal X-ray and ultrasound within East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
His professional development also includes seminars on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) from the Association for Psychological Therapies (APT), IRMER Radiation Protection training and participation in the FIFA Isokinetic Conference on Football Medicine Strategies for Player Care.
In addition to his physiotherapy qualifications, he holds a Massage Therapist Degree specializing in Swedish, sports and deep tissue massage. Rafail continues to combine clinical practice and education, with a strong focus on evidence-based musculoskeletal care and advanced practice.
